i'm ashley
I started thrifting as a hobby, and over the years, came to realize what a positive impact it can have on communities and the environment: to have a more circular economy with affordable and really nice quality items to cover every need.
I believe the secondhand industry needs more people curating the quality items that would otherwise be thrown out in the trash, and so I set out on the hunt to save really beautiful and useful items from the landfill and make them accessible to those who want and/or need them.
I am a proud member of 1% for the Planet (check out my profile here), and I source my packaging first from reuse and recycling, and then from environmentally certified companies like Eco-Enclose. I also strive to be a responsible environmental steward of the little rectangle of land we call home, growing as much of our own veggies, flowers, and fruits as I can, while also supporting local wildlife with native keystone species of plants in the garden.
i am a practical dreamer
I live for the beauty of the earth. In my hallowed little home, I seek to consume less, savor more, and be mindful and appreciative of what I take from the earth. I try as much as is practical to use only natural ingredients in cleaning agents, to minimize energy consumption, to maintain the homesteading spirit of "do it yourself," to buy used items wherever possible, and to be generous with what we have, while also keeping an efficient and aesthetically beautiful home.
I treasure each season and tread lightly in nature, experimenting with different gardening techniques, and growing things to offset our carbon impact, to provide for our table, and to give back to nature and natural systems what has been taken from them elsewhere.
I am a practical dreamer, living modestly and for the beauty of each hour.
